Bocho Donev
Bocho Donev was born on May 30, 1904 in the village of Oreshak, Lovech District. In 1928, he graduated in painting at the State Academy of Arts, Sofia, in the class of Prof. Dimitar Gyuzhenov. In the period 1935-1936, he specialized in Poland at the Warsaw Institute of Fine Arts. He also studied graphic techniques with professors Chervinski and Skochilas.
Bocho Donev's painting is characterized by a realistic drawing. The landscapes and domestic compositions he creates are often socially oriented. He also works in the field of applied art. Participated in over 30 collective exhibitions, organized 15 solo exhibitions in different cities in the country. He exhibits in many exhibitions of the SBH, as well as in Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, the GDR and others.
Paintings by Bocho Donev can be found in NHH, SGHH, the galleries in Ruse, Pleven, Tarnovo, Lovech, Burgas, Samokov, Pernik and other state and private collections.
He died on November 11, 1969 in Troyan.
