Vanya Decheva

Vanya Decheva is a Bulgarian artist, daughter of Danail Dechev. Vanya Danailova Decheva was born on November 26, 1926 in Plovdiv. He graduated in Painting at the Art Academy in 1948 in the class of Prof. Dechko Uzunov. She works mostly landscapes. She created a series of Alafrangi, works from the Rhodopes, Dobrudja and Karlanovo. She participated in the world biennial of young artists in Paris in 1959 and in group exhibitions in Stockholm, Moscow and Berlin. She held solo exhibitions in Sofia in 1960, 1962 but then emigrated to Paris, after which she gradually lost contact with her Bulgarian artist friends.
