Stoyan Vasilev was born on April 16, 1904 in Pazardzhik. He graduated in painting at the Art Academy in Sofia in 1927 in the class of Prof. Tseno Todorov. He works in the field of landscape. Participates in OHI, exhibits here and abroad. Stoyan Vasilev is an artist with a strong sense of color and impressionistic taste. He mainly paints landscapes - urban, mountainous, markets in tropical countries. His paintings are saturated with lyricism and finesse. He prefers stories from Tarnovo. He had 32 solo exhibitions in Bulgaria and 3 abroad: Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt. He was awarded the order "Cyril and Methodius II - st. (1967). He died on March 23, 1977 in Sofia.
