Todor Hadzhinikolov

Born on February 2, 1920 in Pazardzhik. He graduated from the Art Academy in Sofia in 1943, in the class of Prof. Boris Mitov and Nikola Marinov. He worked as an artist-director in the Bulgarian Cinematography from 1945 to 1964. He worked in most areas of the landscape. Since 1949 he participates in OHI. He arranged solo exhibitions in: Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, Silistra, several in Sofia (from 1949 to 1985), as well as abroad: Prague, Budapest, Szczecin. Participation in collective exhibitions in Paris, Moscow, Buenos Aires, Georgia, etc. His works are owned by the National Gallery of Art, the City Art Gallery, art galleries in the country and private collections in New York, Rio de Janeiro, "Amsterdam" (1976), "Sozopol" (1983), "Melnik" (1984), "Motifs from Sofia" ( 1985). Participates with articles in periodicals. Received awards for painting: First prize at the plein air in Budapest (1975), First prize at an exhibition in Szczecin, Poland (1975). He was awarded the Order of "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" - II degree (1970), I degree (1980).
